:: About UsThe Executive Director Round Table is nonprofit coalition pilot project that was launched in early 2008 for 3 diverse counties in Southern Indiana. It is based on several successful coalition models in other areas of the United States and basic business networks. EDRT groups is intentionally tailored to the unique needs and people of the region. For this pilot, several area nonprofit professionals and business leaders saw a need in 2007 for more regionally centered management support groups for nonprofit leaders where Executive Directors, their staff, and their board members could receive opportunities for learning and support tailored to their individual regulatory and economic market...particularly those markets that might be an inconvenient drive to a larger metropolitan area. The EDRT group seeks to be an informally structured coalition that bring Executive Directors together from the region to discuss capacity building, collaborations, shared advocacy, partnerships, task-specific mergers or any topic that improves the function of the participating agencies and has an economic impact. The Round Table will provides the neutral environment for Executive Directors to begin conversations to foster trust, collaboration, capacity building, mentoring, generational knowledge transfer and leadership development in a positive learning environment. The program is structured similar to a “CEO Roundtable” and will provides bi-monthly group meetings in addition to opportunities for one-on-one nonprofit coaching or coaching match-ups with other coaches in various management service pools either locally or virtually. The EDRT group will eventually require some member dues contributions and will generally work towards supplying regular on-line group newsletters, workshops, shared event/fundraising calendars and shared website access as the need, the will or the annual goals of the individual EDRT group determines. The project goal: That agencies find efficiencies and improve the services being provided by communicating regularly, reducing shared costs, finding new revenue streams and bringing services together to provide a holistic approach to nonprofit clients in the community. The EDRT group in Southern Indiana (Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties) received pilot funding and shared support from the auspices of Metro United Way (Louisville) and Indiana Youth Institute (Indianapolis). Personal Counseling Service, Inc. in Clarksville, IN provides administrative / fiscal support until the EDRT organization can grow beyond the pilot phase. Shared management consulting and speaker services for the Southern Indiana group is provided by Consultants of the Indiana Youth Institute and other MSO's, speakers or coaches as needed or desired. Meeting venues are rotated in order to accommodate rural members. To download a helpful flyer to share with others, use this document. Read more about our upcoming meeting on the home page. |
